"Practice Makes Perfect"
In the words of my friend, we get good at what we practice. Whatever it is....
I have asked Sonja Linman to again be a guest on an episode of Where the Veil Grows Thin in an effort to find some bridge building materials in these times of deconstruction. Some glue to hold together small sticks and stones. Some real estate for the foundational footing of hope. Sonja and I easily share what our truth is in any given moment. This posting is a teaser to let you know something is coming. And an invitation to please join us.
Recently my personal truth has been a highly emotionally charged exercise of clearing. Clearing out. Clearing away. Creating space. The activity of purging almost 20 years worth of papers, files, bank statements and amassed clutter.
It’s been an opening of space with no clearly defined need for what will take its place. I hope nothing. I hope the space created becomes a pathway to actually feeling, in a deeply personal and therapeutic way, the grief I have unknowingly carried and accumulated over a lifetime of compassion. Grief that never was mine to carry. It just kind of got lost in the cauldron and became part of me.
Please join me soon, in the next week or so, for the podcast episode Sonja and Ben and I will tape on the 18th. Let’s find a way to shift our responses to the day to day drama into reflecting a rebirthing, a new way of holding hope and a new way of healing from the trauma of being human.
Until then, carry on. Make every attempt to infuse, with honor, goodness and light, the sorrows that come your way. Sit with, and alongside, the things that feel heavy and we will talk about ways to rise and walk away; ways to release back to the water, the energies you find yourself ready to release.
Be mindful of what you practice.
This is Sean Jeung for Where the Veil Grows Thin. I hope you’ll continue to come alongside these ramblings and to find something of value along the way.
And, please feel free to invite your friends along for the ride. I promise to practice good driving…
